New Release: UniPrint Infinity Cloud and Okta Integration

by Joy Yang

According to Quocirca’s Global Print Security Landscape, 2022, 68% of enterprises suffer data loss from printer security failures in 2021.

To future-proof cyber-attacks and print-related threats to your business, we’re excited to announce UniPrint InfinityCloud’s integration with Okta – a powerful platform that builds identity controls into applications and provides secure user authentication, so you can focus on the work that matters most.

This newest release is now effective for Windows users, and support for macOS and mobile will be available by the end of February 2022.

What is Okta?

Okta is a customizable, secure, and drop-in solution to add authentication and authorization services to any application on any device.

With Okta’s single sign-on function (SSO), users can verify their identities with a password and a second factor of their choices when using MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) from Okta.

Okta saves users’ time, increases work efficiency, and ensures users’ private data is safe and protected by extensive security measures and controls.

How it works

Single sign-on (SSO) is a user authentication tool that enables users to securely access multiple applications and services using just one set of credentials.

SSO is built on the concept of federated identity, which is the sharing of identity attributes across trusted but autonomous systems.

When a user signs into a service with their SSO login, an authentication token is created and stored either in their browser or in the SSO solution’s servers.

Any app or website the user subsequently accesses will check with the SSO service, which then sends the user’s token to confirm their identity and provide them with access.

Integration with UniPrint Infinity

If you are already an Okta user, this integration allows you to automatically authenticate users’ identities when printing from UniPrint InfinityCloud.

Each time a user tries to authenticate, Okta will verify their identity and send the required information back to your app seamlessly, allowing users to spend less time having to sign in on multiple applications.

By the end of February, all UniPrint InfinityCloud login interfaces will support Okta.
